HR Independent Expert Briefed on Ministry of Social Security’s Programmes

Khartoum - The Independent Expert on Human Rights in Sudan, Mr. Aristide Nononsi, has expressed satisfaction on the great progress realized by the Sudanese government in the fields of women’s rights and the measures for improving the economic situation in the country.
The independent expert, who met yesterday the leaderships of social security and development in the country, expressed pleasure over the meeting, indicating that his reports for this year focusses on the economic issues, especially as pertinent to women.
He pointed out that he has got acquainted during this visit on a number of reports on the human rights situations and the progress realized in this field.
The leaderships of the Ministry of Social Security and Development, on their part, briefed the independent expert on the projects and programs that have been implemented by the ministry in the fields of curbing poverty and empowerment of women.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ali Mohamed Khair, lauded the efforts of the Independent expert in carrying out his mission for boosting human rights, noting that the ministry implements integrated programme of action in the fields of poverty reduction and empowerment of women and benefitting from their productive capabilities in boosting the socio-economic development in the country.
