Sudan Submits It’s Report on Persons with Disabilities in Geneva

Khartoum - Colonel Bader al-Din Ahmed, Secretary General of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, provided an overview of the first report on persons with disabilities submitted by the delegation of the Sudan to the 19th Session Committee on persons with Disabilities, headed by the Minister of Justice in Geneva, from February 21-22, and the list of issues was answered by a number of relevant actors -
Bader al Din said yesterday in a press Conference On the Sudan's report to the International Commission for Persons with disabilities-nine recommendations of the Committee had been monitored; it could become a State programme of action; He noted that disability was not only a state issue.
We explained to the Committee that the Sudan had shifted from care to rights
 Disability is the responsibility of all, and has been integrated into the policies, strategies and programmes of the Ministries.
Samawal Atmore, Secretary of the legislative and law secretariat of the Council of Persons with Disabilities,  a member of the delegation stated that the delegation responded to 110 questions on a number of issues, including the participation of persons with disabilities in a number of issues and the promotion of partnerships and the role of women
They focused on violence against women, noting that there is a need for deterrent laws on this aspect .He stressed that the Committee has a significant role to play in women's policy.
The Committee also spoke about education and a well-conceived plan; It also enquired about political participation, noting that they had confirmed participation at the level of Parliament; and in the national dialogue
Al Radi Hassan from the gathering of civil society organizations, called for a plan of action to implement the Committee's recommendations and work to strengthen the force, calling for awareness-raising and the reversal of successful models and the rights of persons with disabilities.
