US$287,000 for Delivery of Educational Skills Laboratories in Schools and for Midwifery

Khartoum - Federal Ministry of Health celebrated yesterday at  the Midwives Hospitals in Omdurman, the distribution   delivery of educational skills laboratories to health sciences academies and schools midwives in  Sudan,  honoured  by the Undersecretary of  the Ministry Health, I sam Aldein Mohamed Abdalla  , the Qatari Ambassador in Khartoum and a delegation from the presidency of the Carter Center in Atlanta.
The Undersecretary of Health appreciated the efforts and Support of Carter Government and Carter center for the government of Sudan.
Sudan public health training initiative is a project led by the government of Sudan and the Carter Center aiming to build the capacity of public health training programme in order to strengthen the capacity of health work force for improving the health services in Sudan, he said.
Resident Representative of Carter Center in Sudan  Dr. Nabil Aziz Mikhail  said that the skill Labs  will be distributed in (Wad -Medani, Sinjah, El Obeid, El-Fula, Kadugli and Omdurman) , with a total cost of $278260, $49.
Mikhail explained that six skills laboratories would be distributed to midwives, as well as six skills laboratories for the schools of medical assistants, and the same for the operational records
 The strategic objective of the initiative to develop a well-performing, stable and equitably distributed workforce with an appropriate mix of skills to meet agreed health sector needs, he added.
