Khartoum - (Khalada Elyas) Minister of Transport, Roads and Bridges Engineer Makkawi Mohamed Awad has announced setting up of a committee by his ministry to map out a

strategic plan for transport in the country.
The Minister, addressing a workshop on strategic planning approach yesterday, stressed the importance of existence of real information in this connection.
The workshop was also addressed by Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Roads, who affirmed the integration of official and legislative roles and approval of the draft strategy of the Ministry of Transport at the National Assembly.
The Secretary General of the National Council for Strategic Planning Dr. Abbas Koraina, on his part, pointed out thatpreparations of the strategy of air transport has been finalized prior to approval by the National Assembly.
