Minister of Defense Meets Russian Army Deputy Chief of Staff

Khartoum - Defense Minister 1st Lt. Gen. Awad Mohamed Ahmed bin Ouf discussed Thursday with visiting Russian Army Deputy Chief of Staff Alexander Alexitic promoting

relations with Russia in the various fields and building partnerships, especially military cooperation.
The Minister of Defense described the visit as important, hoping that it would come out with fruitful results.
The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Army, on his part, expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the visit, affirming keenness of the government of his country on boosting the relations with Sudan.
Meanwhile, Chief of Joint Staffs of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Emad-Eddin Mustafa Adawi met Thursday the Moroccan Military Attache Col. Jamal-Eddin Al Yassin and discussed developing the Sudanese-Moroccan relations, which he described as historic.
Adawi said according to Sudan News Agency that the relations with Morocco are distinguished, praising the professionalism of the Moroccan Armed Forces, adding that they rely much on the role of the military attaché in developing the relations into wider horizons.
The Moroccan Military Attache, on his part, affirmed keenness of his country on promoting the relations between the two armies and opening horizons of cooperation and exchange of expertise.
In the meantime, the Deputy Chief of Joint Staffs of the Armed Forces, Gen. Yahya Mohamed Khair, has reaffirmed concern of the Ministry of Defense and the headquarters of the Joint Staffs with the military personnel through provision of their basic needs and housing.
Gen. Khair, launching on Thursday the third phase of the project of providing houses to the non commissioned officers and soldiers, said the strategy of the ministry till 2020 targets establishment of ten thousand houses for the non commissioned officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces in the various states of Sudan.
He also declared start of work in construction of a thousand apartments for the officers of the Armed Forces along with provision of education and health services.
General Director of National Housing Corporation Adil Mohamed Sharfie, on his part, said some 1050 houses have been completed by the end of the year 2017 for the Armed Forces' non commissioned officers and soldiers.
