Khartoum-The cabinet has approved in its annual meeting on Thursday the summer season agricultural performance report

. The cabinet spokesperson Omer Mohamed Saleh stated that the targeted agricultural land is 42 million acres; only 28 million out of the mentioned acres has been exploited due rain fed system.
The spokesperson disclosed that the new planed aimed at producing 6.6 million tons of sorghum, 12 million tons of groundnuts, 594 thousand tons of sesame, 590 thousand tons of cotton 225 thousand of sunflower.
The report has assured the completion of all procedures and coordination with meant ministries to achieve the goal.
20 million acres have allocated to be cultivated according to the application of agricultural technician to increase the production. The cabinet has appreciated the efforts of ministry of agriculture and urged to improvement of livelihood and to encourage production.
