The Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) launched the Green Culture campaign
under the slogan "Our food. Our responsibility."
The President of the Arab Authority for investment and agricultural development, Prof. Mohammad Obaid Al Mazrouei, said the campaign was accompanied by a variety of programs and multiple activities aimed at raising the awareness of Arab youth of the importance of the Arab agricultural sector as one of the pillars of the national product of most Arab countries and a source of livelihood for most of its inhabitants.
He stressed that the Arab States enjoyed agricultural resources, climate diversity and geographical location that would enable them to achieve self-sufficiency in commodities and achieve surpluses of diversified agricultural products that can be exported, depending on the importance of developing and pursuing development plans to exploit the potential and benefit from comparative advantage Enjoyed by those states is the disparity in the distribution of natural resources and environmental diversity.
He called for enhancing the confidence of Arab youth and urging them to invest in productive and industrial agricultural fields and agricultural innovation that came in line with the initiatives and programmes adopted by the Arab Youth Centre with the support of Marshal Omar al-Bashir, President of the Republic and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the role of youth in development and in development areas.
He congratulated the launching of the campaign and expressed his readiness to receive observations, opinions and ideas through the campaign site in order to make the campaign more effective.
The ceremony was attended by a number of partners from global and regional organizations, banks, the Ministry of Agriculture, Youth federations and a large audience of media professionals.
The Arab Commission for Agricultural Investment and Development is the primary sponsor of the campaign, which is conducting its awareness-raising mission through its social networking sites. The first phase of the capital Khartoum is to reach the largest number of young people in the Arab countries, and the campaign program will reveal a lot of tariff materials, competitions, in-kind and physical awards.
During the ceremony, a number of fruitful events were planted by the head of the authority and a number of partners, and the seedling process continues with the selection of scattered sites of institutions related to the authority.
The campaign aims to sensitize Arab youth to the importance of the substantial agricultural resources enjoyed by some Arab countries, which have fertile land the vast variety of crops, abundant water resources and the appropriate climate for agriculture. In addition, the Arab States are characterized by the abundance of skilled human resources that can make the agriculture sector of those countries occupy an important place to provide food products and intermediate inputs to manufacturing industries.
The campaign also aims to raise public awareness and promote public participation in the development process managed and implemented by States, organizations and individuals in addition to raising the cultural level, which contributes to the modernization of society and encourages young people to cultivate their diverse disciplines and sciences Encouraging innovation in various agricultural fields and agro-industrialization
