The celebrations of 71st Independence Day of India in Sudan was special this year

. It began with a friendly football match between ex-players of Almerrikh against the Embassy of India team on 12th August. It was amazing to watch the AlMerrikh veterans still so skillful at their ball play. On 15th August Ambassador of India H.E. Amrit Lugun congratulated the large members of the Indian community on the occasion. He then read out the speech delivered by the new President of India H.E. Ram Nath Kobind. In his speech he reminded us what we owe to the countless freedom fighters who made great sacrifices to bring us here. It is our national resolve to attain certain desired milestones for New India by 2022 when our country will complete 75 years.
